Our Mission
Statement: The ARI is
committed to
education,
outreach and
patient care
while serving as
a resource for
the community at
large. The ARI
will serve as
the nexus for
AIDS researchers
to share
research and
ideas and,
together, devise
new approaches
to the
prevention,
diagnosis and
treatment of
AIDS.
About the
ARI: In 1996, the
AIDS Research
Institute, an
Organized
Research Unit (ORU)
was established
by the Regents
of the
University of
California to
coordinate the
diverse AIDS
research and
clinical
activities on
the UCSD campus.
The mission of
the Institute,
housed within
the School of
Medicine at UCSD,
is to become a
regional
resource for HIV
and AIDS
research and
information in
the San Diego
area.
By coordinating and promoting scientific research and exchange within the
academic
community and
the industrial
sector, as well
as providing
clinical
resources and
education to the
community at
large, our
members strive
to halt the
spread of HIV
and AIDS through
cutting edge
research,
innovative
clinical trials
and public
education. |
